For several years Houston held a Recycled Bicycle Art (REBART) contest. Several of the winning entries are on display around the Nature Center.
The landscaping surrounding the Nature Center features a stunning array of locally distributed prairie species, proving that you can find beautiful, low-maintenance, native species that will grow even in pure sand! The bike trail heads west out of town on the City’s levee which is planted entirely in tallgrass prairie.
